just drove the ex's corsa sport 1.4 16v 43k on clock, seemed fast enough but sluggish compared with my 1.4 and the other day this bloke in a VTR couldnt catch me up, wots going on.

CP wot did u add secretly, lol, just joking thought id let people know im happy with the engine even tho i cant afford to put fuel in it right now, lol

try drving a discovery 400 miles with a blown turbo and twoing a 2 and half ton trailer,then ur understand the words sluggish............and the word fucked clutch,
nutter have u seen the black corsa going around with a center exit pipe,looks stupidand sounds worse,

prob with modern cars is theyre built for safety and not speed nowadays.

Take the new golf gti for example - compare it to the old golf gti - for a start its much bigger (and therefore heavier) - its engine is tuned for economy (as well as speed but not as much of a focus) and its got more gizmos on it.

The new corsa compared to the nova is totally different - bigger heavier, fully of gizmos, electronic chips and other stuff making its slower.

Also carbbed versions are nippier than injections - in most cases
