I need some help with GIMP ;)

I have a old piece of graffiti (on A4 paper) from years ago that i would like to turn into a digital image.

Is there anyway i can scan it and then using special tools turn it into a digital file?

Now heres the catch i want the inside of the letters to be clear, not white, so i can lay it over another image :thumb:
