1.4sr gearbox and 1.6gsi gearbox

as above is ther any difference between the 2 and which one would be better on my 1.6gsi? if thers any difference atall?

One will say F13 gsi and the 1.4SR may be a F10, which wont fit as it needs a smaller flywheel.

You may be able to change the final drive. Look on the cluster casing at the bottom, it should say what diff is in there eg C374 or W394 the higher the number the faster the acceleration but less top speed. There is a guide on the guide section.

Not all the final drives are the same!

The GSI should be a CR box too and its not just the final drive that is changed between CR/WR.

and im guessing if i go for top end speed i will be getting better fuel consumption?

Use a CR F13 with a 4.18 final dive or a Corsa Sport F15 which is exactly the same ratios and final drive
