Arrgh help me, my car is gonna fall to pieces!! My mirrors are terrible, the vibrate loads, how do i sort em and wot would you recommend deadening and what with??
not sure on ur mirrors, but get some dynamat for the insides of ur panels, its a self adhesive high-density stuff that soaks up any rattles.
you can also get a cheaper alternative from B&Q, not sure what it is, anyone?

welcome to the joy of driving a nova!? they all rattle - - - - - - - dont they?
 mk2s are better than mk1 aparently - cant c how that is though
anyway im asusming it all rattling about cos u have a stereo etc..........hi band flashing tape or summat like that
its is black sticky stuff on one side and silvery on the other, its used for sealing roofs and things really on sheds etc with felt roofs, does a wicked job though in the car
The best way to do it is to hint down each rattle individually and deaden it
a big prob may be your numberplates, and also if you have some door pin clips missing behind the doorcard.
As for the mirrors, they wont stop vibrating, your windows will do exactly the same

i've got about 10 different squeeks on my car, both the door cards seem to squeek a lot, im thinking of gettin that tape stuff from B&Q's if i ever oass to drive down there !!! :( Using a quote from the sound deadening guide on mikes site "Aquaseal Highband Flashing tape from B&Q available in many different sized rolls 10m x 100mm for ?6.99"
Sounds good enough to me, has anyone actually used this stuff, and is it any good, or should i just not be a scabby git and buy some dynamat??? thinking of stripping my whole car this week and fitting that flashing tape stuff everywhere!!!!

Rattles?! My car only has 3. Two are the seat belts which squeak when they move on the reel. And one on the inside boot lid panel. So the first 2 can be cured with good 'ole WD40! Yeay! Mind you, she has only done 25k :D

Forget Dynamat unless you are going for a balls out SQ install Marley flashing band will do.
flashing tape is called aqueseal flashing tape - comes from B&Q and is available in various sizes - v good.
To get round the rattles - just turn up the music!

Door mirrors (wing mirrors) have 3 screws under the plastic clip on bit by the adjuster - remove it carefully, then remove the sponge ring, then make sure theyre tight.
Windows - make sure the guides/runners are in place properly
After 10 yrs in existence, your nova will rattle as screws and fixings work loose. Best thing to do is spend a day chasing them and tightening everything up - and if that dont work use little foam fixing pads - the ones you get from ikea that go on the bottom of chairs - theyre amazing!

My Nova is starting to annoy me everytime i go out now from the amount of squeeks etc, mainly the parcel shelf as its made from some noisy plastic stuff, the way i deal with this is by just turning up my tunes so i cant hear them and dont bother with CD players in mk2's everytime u hit a slight bump its cuts out, or is that just mine?

ive had two novas and they both been fine :S
cd changers seem ok - some head units are dodgy because of the angle the mk2 radio sits at, hence why some people relocate the radio to a similar place like on mk1s.
try find a HU with an adjuster on if you can/want
