i've had a set of their 1000w 6x9's for a few years now, and they are starting to distort slightly. anybody know of any retailers in the uk? the place i got them from last time has gone bump now, with no contacts any more.

and before anyone slags them off, for the money i paid they were damn fine speakers (always amp'd to high pass filter) and i cannae be bothered to make another parcel shelf to take normal speakers.

Boschmann have NEVER been 'damn fine' for any money, they were cheap and cheerful which ever way you look at it. I would imagine if they havent gone out of business they will have rebranded, back when they were around it was cool to have a german official sounding name, now its cooler to have chav names like 'fusion' and 'xpl'.
Cheap 6x9s are easy to come by and 99% will fit the holes you have so just get on ebay or pop down halfrauds and check the discount shelves.

Yep, it would be cheaper/easier to replace them.

I think Boschmann rebranded to BM Audio.

lol this came up in a google of "Boschmann Audio" (which, btw, provides loads of hits)

Boschmann are standard factory equip audio in nova's mate.

Now when was it nova's ceased production...............
I'm sure the speakers I took out both my saloons were Blaupunkt items...

I lol'd when I saw the title. Makro specials. 1000w ROFL

All 6x9's should die.

As said though, if you have your reasons for sticking with them there's loads around for little money.

Infinity Kappa have nice clarity to them, you may also want to check out GZ - Ground Zero. Totally different but again, good performers for a few quid.

Usually, RMS is roughly 50% of peak.

However, with budget audio, RMS is usually around 20% of peak lol

DO you run a sub? if not 6x9s arent nessecary, it would be better to get some 6 inch components. and if you can get as bigger speakers you can up front, as thats where your ears are!

its in the golf which does run a sub, but the 6x9's are always run high pass,
and as stated in the original post i cant be bothered to make another shelf to take decent components (although having put them in my cav i can see the improvement)
