arc welding strenghtening plates???

what are your guys views on welding the plates and stich welding with arc welder rather than mig its a clean shell .:thumb:

shouldnt be a problem if your good with an arc and have the settings right and correct rod thickness for the steel your welding . youl most likely burn through tho if your not clued up with arc welding

Will probably blow holes in everything.
Stick welder should really be left to use on thick metalwork...

done quite a bit of arc before .got all right rods so should be a good pentrating welds.

I WOULD USE MIG !! QUICKER, NEATER AND YOU DONT HAVE THE KNOCK THE SLAG OFF AFTER (CLEANER)

With arc you will blow through and there is a lot of heat so distortion will be more severe than with mig.
