We put some new discs and pads on my Nova but after having it out a run we've noticed a wee problem
On the passenger side there is about 1cm of rust where the pad hasn't been cleaning the disc and on the drivers side theres maybe 1.5cm of rust
Anyone any ideas what could be causing this ?
Help much appreciated

Problery just where its beding in. All you can do is check the bolts and make sure the pads are seated in the caliper.

Had them done since the start of the new year and the same amount is only cleaning up...
Maybe strip them back down and rebuild ?
does the car pull left or right under heavy breaking?

Sometimes the left a wee bit...
My Dad thought a sticking caliper ?

You might find that the rust isnt in the "contact area" of the pad thus rusting up over time, happens of all types of discs and is imo "normal".

Shouldn't be that much though - When you look at it, it's like only 1/2 the disc is working...?

what are the back of the discs looking like
Yip, take em off and re-fit. Check the slides on the calipers are moving freely and also check the piston is going in and out properly, just make sure pads are true when fitted back into the caliper :thumb:
Take them off and fit 256 brakes, 100times better.
And take the pads flat, put 80grit sand paper on something flat and rub the pad over it to flatten the surface.

Exactly the problem mate, they were full of crap
Going to strip them down and give them a good rub down
Had a wee quick 5 mins tonight and the calipers are moving a lot better, earlier tonight a hammer would barely move them lol
But on the road the brakes worked perfect!
Cheers for your help mate!
Also to everyone else, cheers :thumb:

like ben says
"clean up the face of each pad"
the pad will bed in to the disc with normal running. you should never put a new disc in with old pads though, cos the disc gets worn in quickly.
old delco calipers are prone to the sliders seizing up & not braking right, as said above, 256mm sets off a vectra/cav etc are way better as long as they fit under your rims

We put new discs and pads on it :)
I'll run these until there buggered and maybe put some 2.0 16v ones on it
Remember corsa B calipers will fit straight on... mini version of 16v brakes!
