right you lot know i have really really short springs,

when i jack up the front the springs falls away from its mountings!

now if i cable tie the springs to the mounts (which i have done) the springs dont come loose anymore,

would this pass mot ? lol

Didnt adam? (Or somone else) have a problem with the MOT when the car was lifted that the springs came away from the mounts?

Sorry to sound stupid, I didn't think the wheels were off the floor during an mot, I thought they were required to test on a four post ramp therfore the car is always sat on its wheels

how they test the wheel bearings then ? lol

tbh i doubt it would get up on a ramp lol

They put a massive bottle type jack under the chassis to lift the wheels off the floor, and then check clearences/wheel bearings/steering etc...

If there not loose they should be ok, my tester had a bit of a moan because the coilover spring on my Avos were a tad loose at full extension. I wound them up an inch, problem solved lol

The front of the car SHOULD be jacked up for an MOT - says so in the manual. A reason for rejection is "excessive movement" in suspension components, so yes it should fail.

do they do the rears ? lol

They'll raise the rear and if the springs are stupid low, or the dampers arent short piston jobbies, the springs will fall out.... lol
