a black one lol one thats a switched live easy to find using a test lamp or multimeter.

Not easily found with any testing equipment when theres no engine loom & most of the car loom is missing :thumb:

the black one that normally goes to power the coil unless the base car was a 1.0 then it is clear....

Oringally mine was a 1.0

Originally mine was a 1.0

right, trace it right back to the switch & join in as close to the switch as poss. or the resistive clear coated wire will drop the voltage. what coil are you using??

The coil pack ive got is a cyclindrical wet item, same as most 2.0 8vs

You dont splice the fuel pump into the barrel.
It will run off the fuel pump relay blue/red wire......

I spliced it into the barrel a few years ago when i was on engine number 1 and it worked fine?

are you running a bosch Jetronic setup then??

if so then join it to the red/blue wire. junk the clear wire & replace it with a decent wire to feed the efi with 12v

If you splice it into the barrel, the pump will just run constantly with ignition....

Thats exactly what it did before and ran fine though Ad?

Yes cheif, Jetronic old skool. Just join the fuel pump live direct to red/blue on the fuel pump relay?

thats what mine does and works fine.

It will run fine Mike, but its dangerous as the pump will run regardless of what the engine is doing...

Running it off the red/blue on that small plug on the engine loom will mean it'll only run when the ecu switches it on :)

So general consensus is hard wire it into the fuel pump relay NOT barrel?

Could explain why i was only getting 200 mile to 42 liters of fuel, but Ive managed 365 in the Corsa lol

No, I've been coming round & nicking it

Yup, as thats the pump relays job, to switch the pump on....

Its turned to jelly now in the Nova tank lol its been in there since Sept '07 lol

Mine is on a switch.well both pumps are lol.

One is a low pressure facet for the swirl pot and the other is high pressure for the engine set at 65 psi/4.5 bar.
