Castle combe tomorrow

Well the time has come for the maiden voyage (on track) of my track car.
Yesterday i started on my nut and bolt check only to find that when i had a slow puncher fixed the tire fitter air guned the lock nut so tight it broke wile i tryed to undo it.
So yeaterday was spent getting the locking wheel nut off and then sorced a new set again.
Today was much better as i got the car in the air and checked it over and found nothing loose.
I also fitted my bullet cam to the cage so it looks out the back window so now i have one looking forwards and one looking back.
It should be good to see what it looks like at the back window for a change.
Thanks to all that helped with the build and thanks to carla for letting me spend so much time on the car.
I will get vids up tomorrow once back if i have time.
Also it's 4 years to the day tomorrow that my best mate died of cancer so if im a bit off anywhen this is why.
People who have seen my mates mum come out in the car with me on track days know who im on about.
She is 68 this year and been out in the new car and loved it.

Do you still have noise checks at track days?? was the limit 99?

Just looked and its 230 miles to castle comb from here!!! may have to find a track a little closer to home haha

The noise limit is 100dBA static measured at 4500rpm/0.5m (3/4 maximum rpm for cars fitted with motorbike engines). The noise limit is strictly enforced. Entry fees will not be refunded if the car fails the noise test. Castle Combe also operated an equivalent drive by noise test at Camp Corner.

yep you would need a helmet and make sure you wear long sleaves and trousers as you mite not be alowed on some tracks.

They have a place on site that will make it quieter but it will cost you.

You can rent a crash helmet on the day fro £5 normally but not sure what it would be for all day.

Would probably look like a turban, but be brown in colour and have salad sticking out of the gaps. Still, if you crashed at least you won't go hungry.

was a very good day today, nice weather, not to busy, went out in the afternoon sessions in the german taxi, the 2 nova's chrisgsi's and ernies were going well, ernie passing my taxi a few times, and i had one off spinning at quarry (ernie will have it on camera im shore).

there was a good selection of cars, the blue noble was in a different league lapping every car like they were stood still.

bring on the next one in april my nova should be done for that i wont have to abuse the merc any more:thumb:

no i ve only had for less than a year, however the mercs you are talking about are my brothers mates who worked at mercedes with him. it was the first outing for mine, and probably the last but it did very well considering the weight of the car. i was woried about noise but it passed the sound testlol lol lol
