right engine starts for around a second then cuts out, then i have to wait for 5mins before i can try again, other wise it just cranks over,

its getting fuel and spark, and yes iv checked the earths

Mine is running for five secs and cutting out, but once the ign is turned off and back on again it does the same,

Is this becoming a common issue with the small xe engines. Mines the same :cry: Flash code check at the weekend for me. Fingers crossed it works.

I havnt flashed the codes out for the reason that i havnt wired up the ECU light lol

you dont need to do what i done, put the wire from the ecu to the back of the dials

Did you get the ignition key with the chip in? Sounds more like an immobiliser problem :confused:

if it was immobilisor the ecu light would flash and you wouldnt get a spark or any fuel

just rewired it, the ecu light dont even come on with igntion on, no codes flash, (no light) but the car still runs for a few seconds

must have it wired up wrong as im 99% sure it comes on with the ignition then goes off when its started

just to check the wire connected to the bulb from the engine loom is that a live or an earth?

its a live i think. trace which side of the bulb the wire goes to to work it out

**** this x16xe crap, its now a c16xe, wired in the loom fired straight up lol

The ecu EARTHS the bulb, its fed a live from the dash loom.

And its the SAI blower plug, nothing do with a rad fan!

The problem your having is as said over earlier on the phone, the immobiliser....
It will run for a few seconds until the fuel pressure in the rail has died, hence why it wont run again.
