mate has a 1.4sr,what other cars use same gearbox

F10 5 speed can also be found in the mk2 astra/max 1.4.

Never, ever heard of that. Sports definately came with an f10. Some one has probably swapped it to f13 for better gearing.

my mate lost all gears but reserve on his golf, turn out to be an engine mount snapped, snapped the gear cable. then found out it had cracked the box its self!!

so can he use another box off a corsa or somet a bit newer,as long as it will fit without changing other stuff,there aint no novas in the scrappers but plenty of corsas or astras,it started off being just second gear he couldnt get,but now he cant find any gears,

I had a f13 in my Nova with a 1300 engine and it was good! Nice ratios! Can be found in corsas, I got mine from a 1.2 8v corsa breaker i think!

edit - it will go straight in with current shafts aswell!

need to get him sorted and on the road so he can see just how much doe it takes to keep a car going,he lives in a dreamworld,he's had this nova 5 years its mint but its never left his garage/driveway,its only the box stopping it geting MOT'ed

All nova linkages link up to basically any of the gearboxes!!! F10 4 speed, 5 speed, F13 etc. Get a gearbox off a 1.2/1.3/1.4/1.6 nova or gearbox out of a corsa B 1200 or something.

Don't worry about linkages, they will basically all clamp onto the selector rod that comes out under the steering rack.

Only gearbox to avoid is one off a 1.0 ohv Nova, differen't fitment.

The current standard driveshafts will definately fit f10, f13 etc and I don't know about f15 gearboxes!!
