Had a look at these earlier but couldnt see how they come off, and they bolted from inside the car or is it just awkward access from under the scuttle panel?

The actual brackets are spot welded to the shell, the arms that hold the bonnet are riveted to the bracket, you need to drill them out, not a lot of room in the battery tray / scuttle area but doable.
Then you'll have to nut / bolt them back on.
Had to change mine a while ago.

Always thought that looked an impossible job. Tucked away good & proper.

Following on from this does anyone know where to get they rivet/bolts that hold the hinges on? Spoke to vauxhall and they're NLS but they did tell me that they're called M8 by 21 collar bolts. Phoned my local parts supplier and they don't do them so does anyone in the trade know where I can get them from?

The place I tried normally sources everything car related so I wasn't sure whether they were hard to get hold of.
