just put some 288mm brakes on my nova, (discs and calpiers) off a v6 cavalier or calibra they work ok just the pedal seems to go half way down till they start to work, i think ive heard of this before with v6 brakes on nova's corsa's couldent find much in the search, they may just need bleeding again, anyone shed any light on this situation? thanks:thumb:

hows your handbrake?


as the rear brakes may need adjusting.

You can try adjusting the bar nut on the brake bar behind the dash. Make sure you dont wind so much that the brakes are binding.

ok will try adjusting the nut behind the dash, got discs on the rear, handbrake is fine, i had ate brakes before off a cavalier, worked ok

As Adam Said Get A 15mm Spanner On The Adjuster Bar On The Back Of The Brake Pedal I Did This Tried And Tested Just Dont Over Do It !!! 1 - 1.5 Turns !! Dose'nt Sound Alot But It Works

What servo are you using? I used to have this problem with my old SR servo with 288 brakes, until I upgraded to the slightly larger GSI servo.

The servo dont make a differance it just helps you with pushing the pedal.

i'm glad i read this thread. i put v6 stoppers on mine a few weeks ago as well. i have also noticed the pedal going down further than before.. i'll check the nut at the weekend.. cheer's.. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

i will also ytighten my nuts when my car is on the road, as the pedal does travel some
