Quick question rex, can you get some kind of lsd for the standard 172 box, as my friend has a 320bhp 172 with a standard box, i think hes after a slipper?

Jay, you can.... But for the jc5 box i think the only option which i have found is..... quaife ATB.

Willy is half naked, i also booted **** out of the door for annoying me on sunday :D

nah, cut and weld the shafts, and make mounts. noty that hard, theres one in ppc this month thats running a vw 20v turbo.

Cut and weld shafts? surely it would be easier, and a hell of a lot safer, just to have some custom shafts made.

yeah i guess john, but my engineering shop will guarantee any they do. its not tricky tbh. edither way, a vaux lump in that chassis would be mint.

guarentee a splined shafts.... im impressed.

You might as well use the xe or nothing tbh, the ecotec is down on power from the start and seems a bit pointless.

Only 15bhp down, and tbh most XE's being older and probably more ranted will no doubt have lost near to that over the years. Your average ecotec could have come from a low miler cav CD with FSH etc

me and burgo were debating this, the eco is actually the better engine, its the fact its called ecotec that puts people off. the head is better, the block is stronger and the design is newer. fit bodies and a decent exhaust, and 175bhp is easy. get one from a vectra around 1999-2001 and its the best years.

Or just fit a proper engine and none of this whizz-bang 4cylinder tat

No, its the ridiculous amounts of unreliable sensors that puts ME off.

Agreed TB's would be the best option, but how many people can just lob on a set of bodies??

least miles, and by then the first issues they had wwith them in the vectra are sorted, and theres the possibility of finding a x20xer.....

I meant more the cost rather than the technicalities lol

but then you are into the "cost reduction" years... meaning its still got unreliable sensors lol
