Have any of you guys/girls got an aftermarket ecu running on your motors??

If so what have you got??

Which one would or can anyone recomend??

It'll just be doing ignition only on my engine for time being lol

Any help or advice always welcome:thumb:

the simple answer is go with which ever system your mapper/tuner prefers

^^^As above.:thumb:

Try and get a management system from the likes of MBE/DTA/OMEX that more tuners will know of and have experience in mapping. Try and find youre local ECU mapper / rolling road to see which they prefer then you dont have to travel for hours to go and get it mapped when needed!;):D

I don't mind travelling for hours, if its gonna be done right, i have tried a few round here before and it seems everytime i get my car back it blows up!!!!

Just looked at SBD and they are £250p/h:eek:

Ijust need it setting up properly once i've got the management system sorted, can anyone recomend a decent rolling road/ remap place??

Not too bothered if it turns into a 6 or 7 hour round trip:thumb:

Anyone used a firm called Motorscope?? http://www.motoscope-online.co.uk/rollingroad.htm seems they can map most of the ecu's.

Emerald ECUs. Much the same as MBE/DTA etc. Dave Walker in Watton, Norfolk designs them so best man to map it. I think for £250+VAT they will provide you with 3 maps.

There is also another company in Northallerton, look up Northallerton Tyre and battery, give them a ring and ask for Chris, he may well be able to help, had him recommended to tune my Sport, which he did;)

you will do more damage with ign only than if you had control over fuel too lol

I've got a Megajolt ecu to control my ignition only for my r1 carbs. Luckily it already has an xe map for 45s on it. I'm just gonna load it up and tweak it with a wideband lambda until I notice the difference!

for joe public, yes thats the only way to do it "safely"

advance till you "just" get det, then back it out till the EGT goes sky high or you have lost no more than 5% torque.

I used to do it with £3K in cylinder pressure transducers and you can watch the combustion event then and tweak the spark all the way to the limit and stay there :D

nope :p

I'll do fuelling, I'll do boost. I refuse to touch ignition unless I have lots of sensors :D
