what benefits (if any) would i get from changing my 4 speed gearbox to 5 on my 1.2? thanks.

If you fitted a CR box it would help acceleration.
Apart from that, not much

i was just thinking about fitting a standard nova 5 speed. one reason i want 5 gears is because at high speeds, the engine is revving like f*ck lol with my current gearbox

at high speeds the 5th gear cant pull it lol you end up going slower then in 4th gear haha

5th on a 5speed box is pretty much the same as 4th on yours anyway....

yeh, ^ the same, ive done it in the past and wasnt happy with it, switched it back to the 4 speed. its not worth it

4 speeds are good at traffic light grand prix! you're keeping on the power while the other guys are changing gears! not much advantage but it all helps when you've got a 1.2.

This is actually so true,ive kept up with cars a good bit faster in my 1.2 because it only has 4gears meaning less gear changes and people are quite surprised :P
