very nearly distroyed the front of my Nova xmas day around 6 in the eve. Called in to the gf's parents house for a while, then brought her to her own house. Left there around 6 and was comin off a slip road on to a dual c'way when i heard a snap! :?
Next thing i knew the wheels were facin in different directions, drivers side wheel was buried in something like the inner wing and the car went sideways towards traffic lights, across a lane, caught it with the handbrake and managed to steer up on to the footpath!
My first reaction was "not again" as a similar thing happened a few years ago when a ball joint broke in my gte.
Turns out the drivers side tca snapped in the middle. It's an adjustable arm due the the wide track suspension (as opposed to the normal one that bolts onto an anti-roll bar) and in the middle is a treaded section for adjusting the wheel forward and back. It snapped in this treaded section. That's supposed to be "GP A" super strong stuff and it broke under no stress in normal road use
Today after takin a couple of digi pics i had to weld it up to get me through the xmas untill the guy i bought it off opens up again next week.
when i get through to him god knows what kind of arguement im gonna have with him

if i can figure out properly how to put a pic on a post ill do it soon!!
ill let ye know what happens with the company etc.

It works out at the same width as an Astra (i use Astra gsi drive shafts) which i think is 2 or 3 inchs wider. No other damage other that. poped out a shaft but that was just annoyin for puttin it up on the trailer!

Lurk long time no hear!! are ya home again? None of that stuff is from Iain anyway!

stokie_dave go out and ride all around ya. will either sort ya out or turn ya against women!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY M8! Now thats a quality name for a place!

Phuket

Ah now, c'mon - theres no need to be rude!

I'm just getting over a nasty cold/flu episode - I have blown out more snot than that green thing out of Ghostbusters ever put down!

Highly recommend Sudafed max strength tablets for anyone dying from head cold - brilliant stuff!

Yes Phuket is a good name although pronounced poo ket. It is a really funny town that is full of 30stone germans who have 6stone Thai wifes :!:
We went down there as that is were my brother was for new years.

Was definately a birthday i will never forget. The main aea where we were (called Soi Easy  ) was littered with bangers and good knows what, they just light 1kg boxes of bangers and throw them at your feet, is a bit like Palastine when there going off.
They made me drink shit loads of shooters and cocktails, the worst being called Fist F*ck :!: :!: :!: wich is made up of Tequila,Vodka,Grenadine and Tabasco :!: Bast*rds

I caught my Girlfriend kissing someone else, it was a 3ft Lizard that some dude carries round for you too have your photo taken with, i will post some pics up when i get them back from shop.

Oh yeah and had to be up at 8am to get a flight

Hope you all had a good new year, back soonish

i have been talking with the company i bought the kit off and i have to send back the tca to be strength tested by some steel supplier to find out if a bad batch had been supplied.
I presume it will then be replaced!

Thanks to wisewood i finally figured out how to post a pic!!! cheers W.
well thats the broken tca anyway. its goin back to the supplier next Monday.
The engine is comin out tomor  to go to its new home in Dublin. the bootlid is going to a new home here in Galway as are the wheels.
This shell will then be gettin its cage etc in prep for its first taste of rallying.
I have another shell to paint now for my new car. I'm looking for a 1.6 16v for that and 16" speedline alliseo's. both are hard got over here.
