Any one know if a corsa 1.6 turbo could do 140mph and obtain 207bhp figure.
Theirs a debate on another forum and I could see the bhp is posible but not sure on gearing:confused:
Speed easily, bhp figure no way not without serious internal mods and unreliability issues!
is that RR bhp or "theory" bhp with mods?

cant answer that sorry. I know you can push out that sort of bhp from a 1.6cvh.

300bhp from a 1600 8v has been achieved. Tbh if a 2.0 is good for 6 or 700bhp, a 1600 smallblock is good for 450 I'd imagine. However the power delivery would be so peaky a 2.0 would make more sense.
Anything is possible with a big enough budget however.

Much of top speed is based on gearing & aerodynamics.
Neither of which contribute much about an engines pure potential.

Thats what i was thinking the gearing was more an issue.

Vauxhall's own figures for the SRI with F13CR gearbox is max speed of 109Mph.

its possible, but it must have cost a lot of money.
there is a guy on the dutch opel forum who pulled 205/210 hp out a c20ne with eaton m64 compressor.
Both yes & yes. I know wheres theres an N/A 1.4 16v running a proven 202bhp for sale at present.
I'm sure theres an 'off the shelf' turbo kit for a 1.6 16v claiming 220bhp. I'll go digging.... can get the same power N/A too :D
Lets not rule out a quiaf box too.
