merry xmas everyone , my brakes are dead on my nova 1.2 so ive decided to put bigger brakes on , i want vented but what do i get them off . any recommendations ?? help needed quickly im doing them tommorow .

u need to get new brakes to have vented ones,
so get to a scrapy and find a astra gte 8v and nick the brakes COMPLETE

i know i need ones but didnt know which to get . ill get new discs and pads and 2nd hand callipers . will they go straight on , do i only need the callipers or the mounts aswell

jusr replace pins and anything which is likly to brake,change brake fulid etc,

the larger ATE calipers dont have pins, better really, less parts to sieze up!
if i were u id get the discs from the same astra if they have plenty of meat left on em, u never know they may work fine and u'll save cash by not gettin new discs.
if after usin em, u realise the discs r fcuked it is a easy job to place new discs on later.
get pads like mintex or green stuff, few bad reports of green stuff, but iv been usin em a while and they work fine. :wink:

cheers for the info lads doing them next week now , only got calipers as i got some nice bumpers off a cav to modify to fit my long arse nova .

if you have 14" or smaller wheels you will be limited to 238mm ATE calipers and not the 256mm or bigger found on 2L cars!!

the width is the limit for 256mm brakes.. 14" are ok as long as they are 5.5j wide
