Okie I'm running a slightly different setup to most, but essentially I'ud like to know how the pedal should feel IF you've just installed all new disks and high temp pads.

Done a bit of pottering around and the effectiveness is a million miles away from even what I would expect to begin with.

The brakes have just been bled with new fluid ~ system has no leaks or air inside.

What kind of travel would be about right to get anywhere with what I have atm.

What size MC do you have on the front and rear?

I have just put a bias pedal box on mine and I had to play with the setup a bit to get it right. Although I haven't used the brakes much at all I have got a nice pedal feel and the pedal travels a little way before the brakes are fully on.

Before I started playing around the pedal was very firm and didn't move much if at all (or near as makes no difference). Also the brakes were very wooden and I wouldn't have liked driving on them.

EDIT: Just read your post again. Where the brakes fine before you put the new discs and pads on? i.e. the only thing thats changed are the discs and pads.

high temp pads wont have "great" initial bite, but it shouldnt be terrible.

have you got the smaller MC for the front? if so then thats "correct"

I trust youve beddded the pads in as per manufacturers spec

Thanks for responses but it doesn't work like that.

On the up side the calipers have begun to work as they should.

sounds like they are starting to bed in... maybe you should look at the bedding in procedure for the pads you have and do it properly (given that you have provided shag all information about some "special" setup and want help on it)
