View Full Version : Astra GTE Xe Loom

If using this loom when fitting my xe in to a nova, is the easiet option to make up a loom that runs from the inside of the car to the point where the loom powers up after the injector rail or can I tap into the loom near to the ecu like a cav/cali loom and do away with the original plug in the engine bay, or source a cav/cali loom and make the connections as I have on prevoius conversion

Any help will be much appreciated in advance

i did it in the bay, its easy enough to do matey.

If your really clever you can actually trace the wires from the plug back to the ecu and then tap into them inside the car rather than joining at the plug in the engine bay and taking them back in.
You can either trim the sheath of the loom off to do this and re-tape it once you have them where you want them or if your sure you have the correct ones at the ecu end just cut and join.
If you have a gte or gsi then the wires needed are in the engine bay anyway on a plug in the same area so can be joined there.
Plenty different options depending on how brave and competant you are.....

Its pov spec the car so I think its easier/better to do it near the ecu as I have in the past, I am quiet competent with a multimeter/continuity tester so I should be able to find all the required wire at the ecu, I was just checking that that was possible and then can I just remove the old plug in the bay and insulate it?

aye pretty much, we've taken the sheath back on the loom before and pulled the plug wires back to the ecu end.
Some may need extending but anythings possible with a bit know how and a bit patience m8 :thumb:

Cheers for the help mate I only need to locate four wires don't I?

Depends what your using for your Live and ignition live etc.
