Engine is a straight swap yeah.
Will probably have to use the 1.6spi loom though as it has a few extra things compared to the 1200 engine loom

will it not run on the 1.2 loom with the 1.6 ecu?

Adam

As said, the 1.6 has stuff like EGR, whereas the 1.2 dont. So the 1.6 loom is different.

oh right, was thinking about doing the 1.6 conversion but i didnt want to start chaning the loom.

1.6 spi.... thats got to be one of THE stupidest conversions ever!

Sloth

why its an ok lump and not that slow

Adam
09-02-09, 08:59 PM
Its a ****e lump, and slower than a 1.4 8v mpi which costs half the amount to tax and insure! lol

only reason i wanted to do it was because its not that much work. i dont want to do a big engine conversion. ill just stick with my original idea then, rebuild a 1.2 engine that im getting. new bearings/gaskets/seals etc... then drop it in mine.

one of the novas came with the 1.4spi didnt they? would that be a straight swap?

keep it a 1.2i you will never insure an engine conversion at 17

ok then cheers. as i said, ill just stick with my idea of rebuilding the 1.2 engine. £20 and comes with 5 speed box. not bad lol
