think this is the right section
what is the biggest wheel u can fit in spare wheel well i have a spare 15" cav slab planning on powder coating and fitting a 195/45/15 on it just wondering it will fit before spending money on it
Might be wrong but sure there different sizes on different models, mk1 / mk2 ??
I had a 15 with a 195/45 as a spare and it fit no bother, the screw bit in the middle fitted as well, that was on an early mk1 shell.

ive got late mk2 1993, sorry didnt put it didnt know there was a difference
There might not be ??
Sure i've try'd fitting bigger wheels in the wheel well before and not been able to.
Sure someone else will be able to shed some light tho.
Can you not just take wheel off and try ??
The biggest I fitted was an astra gte with 185/60/14 but the screw bit wouldnt reach the thread.

as far as wheel size goes, i cant shed any light, but im sure ive seen different sized lengths of the screw thread u speak of.
fairly sure a couple of my nova's the spindle thing was short and just about fitted a 13, but on atleast one other the thread was prety long, i remember it as an annoyance cos it was poking up into the carpet. not sure if it was a standard item or possibly something off an astra or other vauxhall with a similar design.
Taf your right about at least a couple of different lenghs. AFAIK Novas with 3spokes as standard had slighly longer plastic bolts lol I spent ages trying to find one. Then gave up lol
And cooltiger, get off your ****, take a wheel in to work and try it!

I left mine out to save weightlol , put a 14" steelie in there it'll be lighter than the cav alloy:thumb:

I had no problems getting a 185/60R14 balloon in mine. The rolling diameter of a 195/45R15 is 1.5mm more than a 185/60R14 if I've done the maths correctly.
A 195/60/R15 does not fit.
A can of tyre weld and RAC membership card does though :D
lol i had a spare alloys when i was on my 15" had 195/45 tyres on it , fits in the hole fine just it was too high for the floor level so had a huge bump under my carpet lol
Ours fits with a 185 55 15 tyre on easy, to get around the bump in the floor just turn the carpet over and cut around where the tyre has left the black mark on the underside of the carpet, so it will then poke through like weve done to ours below V (you can just see it);):thumb: Then just use another nova carpet from the scrap yard and trim around it to protect the wheel!:)
