Fook me it wont undo!

Have and of you lot had problems with any and how did you manage to get them undone?

stick it in gear (5th) then get a socket & a decent breaker bar on it & really give it some stick.
I'd suggest getting someone to stand on the brakes as well.

And this worked for you dude? Whats the chance of it snapping?

if you are undoing it the normal rh thread way, it will undo. it has loctite on the threads & will be damned tight, but I'd be shocked if it snapped

any chance you could get to a local garage,
crack it of with a air gun, and then nip it back up slightly?
just an idea

or.... have someone you trust quickly crank the engine while you hold a breaker bar and socket on the bolt.

but be ready to brace yourself.
always worked for me, even when an air gun does'nt do it:thumb:

lol being a mechanic for years taught me some tricks to save time:cool:
and tbh the sudden force of the crank pulley turning isnt as bad as you think:thumb:

I had thought about wedgeing the bar against the floor and then turning the engine over...?

yes, but I have had to cart workmates off to A&E after they have done stuff like that....

I have a 2' snap on breaker bar & a 3' pipe. if I give it some beans, I am getting about 800lbft torque.. I used to drive lorrys & would always use the wheel brace to do the wheel nuts. windy guns are either way too tight or only just on, so they either fall off, or shear the bolt.

I can see the headline now ' Man dies in horrific bolt removal incident'.
Sounds a bit silly to me, do the job properly.

Mine wouldn't budge.

Went to halfords and got some Loctite freeze spray. Same idea as heating something up.

Sprayed it on the bolt head, left for 2 mins then it came undo fairly easilly! Was amazing how the whole bolt was freezing cold when it pulled out.

put bar against the floor, hold it tight to the bolt and give the engine a quick crank over.

Dont try holding the bar, thats just stupid!

I will never condone, or advise anything that could either break the part & injure the person.
