To all you non lovers, It made it home without a hitch.
The 172 is a ****ing good buy for 1k, Full service history upto the date when purchased. It came with brembo max disks, Ds2500's and a set of braided hoses ITG filter element.
It drives exeptinally well, pulls like a good un, But my god it needs a full exhaust system as the standard systems are know to be very restrictive and you can tell. Half leather and alcantera interior, everything works and average fuel consumption of around 33mpg I'm certainly loving it. Over the williams it feels like it has been screwed togeather properly there is also a £300 DVD headunit which came with it lol Winnner :thumb:
only real problems are a craxked foglight *oh Noes* and a door lock repair to passenger side *oh Noes* and a scratch to the O/S front wing *Cat D right off pmsl*

only ever driven a VTR and yes it feels a lot better, But std exhaust sucks ass and need to go into the Bin asap. lol

Are they the ones that are really throaty?
Yeah, they look standard, but have bigger bore pipework. Sound cool when giving it some, but nice and quiet on the motorway.
might get an ashley with a sport style backbox :D
Whats it like compared to the Williams? Similar pace?

Does sound cheap, though I wonder what state the seats & interior bits are in? They dont age well. Lot of car for the money though, beats all the rusty Nova SR's on the bay for twice that!

interiors bang on to be honest, its a **** load better than any astra, corsa interior.
Compared to the williams, Well that was stripped, full system de-cat, remap etc it i wouldnt say its as quick at the moment due to the exhaust and interior still being in it.
But, for 1k You couldnt buy and build an xe nova for that, nor could you buy a mint 1.0 shell etc so it makes total sense.
Think i will get it serviced, and change the cambelt regardless drivers side c.v has a slight knock so that will need a new driveshaft nothing major as yet oh and i might treat it to a set of grp N mounts just to keep its engine where it should be.
meh , chris still has spares in his back garden for when you break it lol ,
i do like these cars though and they can take alot of abuse , but knowing you personally and how you drive cars i will say that it will break on you , but also id like to point out that you would brake NY car you ever bought regardless of make etc ,
just that french ones brake easyer lol lol

I wanted a 172 when i bought the williams, But my mate has a black 172 lol so its all abit gay if i bought the same thing. The low milage willy came up which turned out to be a right ****ing woofer. Its whats avi at the time you gaylord and the money involved ;)

me mother has a 182 Cup and that shifts, very similar to the 172 and i think il have it off her when she has done with it because its a v.nice car for bombing around in specially with ebc brakes, pipercross element to make it a bit growlie (hehe go on tell me im a chav lol) Shes not had one problem with hers yet (touch wood) and it gets some stick!
