Shit isn't it!?
Just when you spend all you cash, something happens. Or just when you have loads of it, something else happens so that you end up having to spend it on something other than what you wanted to. Bloody bollocks!

Oh and when i had my first car (and didn't know anything about cars to do any work myself), i took it to the vauxhall dealer to see about having my headgasket being replaced (though i didn't know what it was then), and, when i asked him how much it'll cost, the cheeky fucker suked in loads of air through his teeth and said 'more than your car's worth'! My heart just sank. Cheeky git, i paid ?1,000 for it, it was in excellent condition (1.2 merit! :D ) and i eventually got all the work done (including skimming the head) for ?100. Not 'that' bad really.

sheep you can replace a head gasket.
u got a haynes,and a tool kit.its easy.about 3 hrs work,if u dont know wot ya doing.
and just to rub this in,the carlton a 1988,on 195600 miles, and according to all the paper work, recipts etc,and by the looks of the engine, its still on its factory head gasket,
the nova one is fine, and that 1986,that was the factory gasket.
so u must be proper hammering ur car sheep

sheep mm8 im telling ya,u culd replace it,
even my x culd do it,and she was blonde
think my gasket is about to pop its clogs. I'm getting the tell tale whiteish smoke out of the back and shes running a little erratic.
No problem though I'm just gonna drop a new engine in in the new year. Leave it with a garage friend of mine whilstI'm off on me honeymoon -
1600 here I come!!!
Now I can look good and accelerate to match!

only weather thing to affect mine is people find it increasingly amusing to write me messages in my rear window much to my annoyance at college

it's a fucking twat isn't it, a few months ago my car started to run like a bag of shit and about 2 weeks ago my timing belt snapped and totally fucked 2 valves. it was in the garage for about three days, when it was apart I think he put a new head gasket on it, and alltogether this is gonna cost me around ?200-?300 :o :o :o :o :o :o but it runs as sweet as a nut now and it shouldn't be nackering up for a while now !!!!! so I can save save save for those lovely 17's and a re-spray :D :D :D :D :D
head gasket is easy! as every one says get a haynes the hardest part for you would probably be the torque settings other than that it is just undoing bolts lol and a bit of sealer! id get the head skimmed aswell bout ?25
The cold wet weather can't be good for any car. I'm finding it difficult to keep the revs up in the mornings, and sometimes the handbrake seizes on me, but other than that it's ok.

ive got a the haynes manual and i cant even find it in there.

As for the weather, we had 1/2 Inch of snow a couple of weeks back.
1. Heating on full
2. Lights on full
3. Rear fog on
4. Wipers on full
5. Drive normally
If anyone can tell me a better way to drive in heavy snow please let me know, ASAP :!:

attn to number 5:
drive SLOWER and MORE CAUTIOUSLY than normal
think of them braking distances!
last year i saw a classis that put my right off and i soon learnt, dunno why was looking out my window, 2 cars - doin less than 10 mph, one gettin to end of my road, just a bit to far over, car tunring in to road, they got down to about 5mph, but then they just slid, to see it happen in such slow motion its undescribable and it really did go slow. cant put it in to words but once you see sumthink like that it makes u think
oh and can i add a number 6: ?!?!?!
fit a huge splitter - that way you wont get snowed in you can plough everywherte for the coucnil :D
actually thats probly bad idea as first bit of snow ittl rip off hahaha
nite all
