I've been looking for a good Breeze Blue SR or SRi for a long long time, and as some of you may have read, I bought one of Pistonheads last Friday.

Got it home yesterday, and it was a bit grubby on it, so gave it a bit of a clean, and lowered, and changed the wheels.

Very pleased with the condition it's in, basically a one owner from new car, was completely standard before I got my hands on it!

How I got it:

and after todays messing about:

I will probably change the Softstars to Speedlines later, but apart from that, it's pretty much how it's going to stay!

Any rust atol ??

Yeah will look better with the Speedlines, but I couldn't be bothered to take them off the red one!!

No real rust on it, the corner of the back arches where it meets the sill is bubbling a bit, but apart from that all is grand! Will get it sorted soon enough.:thumb:

Fair play fella, car looks mint. The Breeze Blue SR's are awesome! As you say, just get those few bits tidied up and leave it totally standard but lowered on Speedlines and that'll be it sorted.

All the important bits are 100%, suprising really since I was talking to the previous owner and he said the car had never spent a night in the garage!!!

Will be giving it a good clean underneath on Saturday, and then plastering it with Waxoil underneath to keep it that way!!!!

No, my daily car can be seen behind it in some of the pictures - I haven't even done half a mile in it since I got it!!! Don't want to take it out in the salty/snowy roads as I don't want to be able to brush it up!!lol

Good theory, I'm sure its the easier option and I would be linched if I had the amount of money tied up in three Novas, is this going to distract you from the red un getting finished or is it not far off now?

No, I'm still working away at the red one (slowly!!), have a new timing belt and waterpump to fit to the engine tonight, along with the cam, and will then get a coat of paint on it, and hopefully in the car next week at some point!!
So almost there, can't wait for that!!!:thumb:

Cheers, as I've said before - it's the Nova I've always wanted! (Well an SRi if I was fussy, but this does the same job for me now as it doesn't get driven that often! lol )

I'm always on the lookout for new geuuine vinyl so I can get the little rust spots at the back of the sills sorted and then it would be perfect! A simple fix on any other sort of Nova, but the vinyls make this one a little more complicated!!!lol

http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL761/13383207/23846634/409017120.jpg

It's a 1990 SR with just over 5k miles from new. It's a bit of a weird spec, no electric windows or central locking, and the clocks are all black like a GSi, although they are only the 4 clock type.

Original owner bought it, drove it for a short while, and the took sick and couldn't drive. It was always their intention to get back on the road but it never happened, so the car was sold. All I was told about it was it was a blue 3 door with low miles, couldn't believe my luck when I seen what it was!

Lovely car!! I've always wanted a breeze blue SR, my first SR was on an H (square griffin on bonnet badge) and had no central locking or electric windows, but had white dials, I'm guessing this being an SR it'll be similar spec hence to central locking or leccy windows?

amggsi
18-03-14, 01:20 PM
I'd always thought all SR's had electric windows and central locking. Black dials must only have came in the very early ones, I got the 1990 brochure out to check, and the pictures show it with black dials. 1991 brochure has the same picture, but white dials!

Amazing find - Hope you keep that one in stock spec and treasure it. Very rare to find a decent spec car in that condition!

amggsi
18-03-14, 04:20 PM
I've lowered it 40mm and will be fitting Speedlines, but that's it. It's the way I've always wanted a Nova so that's the way it will be.
And if the notion takes me, it'll not take long to return it to standard anyway.
I still don't know if I will be able to bring myself to drive it that much anyway, I've done about 200 miles in the other low miler since I got it about 5 years ago!

Kev Turbo
18-03-14, 04:24 PM

However - your car / your call - enjoy it :)

If you sell those standard 14s I will be first in line for them,

You'll not want the 3 spokes that came on the car, think they have been drove along a kerb for most of the 5k miles on the car! Ones on it are another set I have!

Got a call from someone looking a Nova SR last week, and in a,moment of madness I mentioned that I might sell this one. He came to look at it today, and left with it, cant actually believe I sold it!! Probably live to regret it!

That's a big shock, at least she staying over here. Main thing is that she is going to a good home.

Yeah, seems to be away to a good home, think he has started the strip down for paint already!!

The fella just contacted me at the right time, as I have my eye on another one at the minute, and realistically I was never going to to do much more with this one now that I have the other Breeze Blue one!
