Destroked 1600 8v to 1300cc, twin 45 throttle bodies, steel crank with titanium rods. The bottom end is capable of revving to 13,000rpm, only limited to a lower RPM by the 8 valve head. The piston to valve clearance at higher RPM is so close due to stretch in the rods, they even had to move the plugs up in the head as the piston was hitting them due to the stretch!.
The engine is putting out an amazing 175bhp!!!!!!
Also runs a dog box and original 1.3 Delco calipers as he said he does not need to brake much!

The rod stretch got me even with titanium rods, when they were testing the engine they had problems. They then found the piston had hit the spark plug!

Dont think it damaged the piston, it just clipped the plug and closed the gap!

really short stroke, means the lenght the piston goes up and down is very small. long stroke means it goes up and down more, like so:

the red circle is the crank centre, the black the con rod connection part.

it does man does'nt it absolute beast i want to know what its reving at if it could go to 1300 rpm with a 16 valve head its absolutely nuts that thing though!!!
