Don't want a silver lip as the celica has that, I don't really think it suits this car either. Only chose black as its easy and I don't want too many colours...

Has to be black, plus if you curb them just get a can out and spray them over again

draper

Thats my thinking. Plus, black is easy, where as mixing/matching colours is harder. And costs more lol

+ve rep lol

Still isn't as ghey as the blue lol Although that respray reminds me of a smiley faced Transit style paint job. Never before has the phrase 'full dip' been more apt. lol

White

Jack
04-02-09, 08:07 AM
No chance on white lol

And stop with the lowering/tyres, not going to happen :p Tyres fill the arches so no need to lower, and the suspension is too hard to fit smaller tyres lol

i would go with blue and black. blue on the spokes and black on the lip or other way about.

I think the poll has spoken!

Jack

I agree the blue/black thing looks quite good, but as said its spending money which I don't want to spend, and makes the car look too "showy". Black or silver is practical as its cheap, simple and easy to do, plus its easy to touch up when I inevitably curb the wheels. Remember, this car is a daily hack lol

Hrrmm, looks like it may have to be black :D

Respray Vauxhall Star silver.

Jack
04-02-09, 09:06 PM
The car, or the wheels star silver?

STFU with the tyres, its not happening... small tyres are gay and expensive and leave silly arch gaps. And no its not being lowered any more! lol

Jay
04-02-09, 09:11 PM

jimbob-mcgrew

i would say black, but forget the wheels, whats going on with that grille !

Jack

I refer you to the thread where I bent a wheel on the celica due to a massive pothole in the road so HAH :p The roads round here are awful in places. I'd rather have fat tyres and a 40mm drop and not have to worry about holes than have more expensive tyres that are skinny and make the car look like its on stilts, and then have to tiptoe round all the roads constantly looking out for holes. Practicality, m'lad, this car has at least SOME of it :D

Its a 195/60 tyre, sized for the Calibra they came off. They fit, so whats the point in changing them? :D

And nothing going on with the grille, why? If you mean why is it black and not blue, a) costs too much to get it painted blue (i'm a crap painter so I'd need to get a pro job) and b) I did photoshops at the time - all blue was IMO too much

I understand where you're coming from on the practicality side of things mate but I think you could make some compromises and have some degree of comfort and have the added bonus of the general public not holding limbo competitions under your sills whenever you leave the car :thumb:
