Thanks for finding that out, glad it's still going. Just to let ya's know it wasn't running illegally when I owned it, it was insured as a 2.0 16v just not registered on the logbook. I've never seen the attraction of putting a big engine in a small car and trying to get away with not insuring it properly as there's a huge a**e raping waiting for ya if anything goes wrong, take it from me if ya roll a 2.0 16v nova and the police get involved, quite soon after they find out ya alright they start asking a million questions about the enginelol
I'd have probs went to jail if my mk1 wasn't fully legit:thumb:

Aye the guy who built it was clean2.0 SR iirc
White2lSr built it
Clean2.0Nova was Iain Grant from my end who had the blue Gsi that VXRipoff bought and sold on,then got crashed and wardy and cassidy16v reshelled it more or less....:d

Whoops lol didn't know it was illegal not to change it on the logbook

Had my XE on the road 4 years illegally then lol as I only insured it as a 2.0L

A lot of normal cars over here are £100+ a month!

Maybe that's why our roads are full of holes, we're not paying for premium grade smooth as silk tarmac obviously lol

edit: http://www.environ.ie/en/LocalGovernment/MotorTax/MotorTaxRates/MotorTaxRatesBasedonEngineSize/ 614 euros a year for an XE it seems.

would cost me about £400 a year for the TD, crazy!

Ben
26-01-11, 02:18 PM
roads over here are 10x worse than the uk!

Edd
26-01-11, 02:18 PM
Yeah new cars not 80's rot boxes lol

The amount of cars the end up going over there you would think it was cheap to run a car lol

er no that's the old system for cars before 2008 I believe (did look it up can't remember the date now :p) the new system is based on CO2 emissions, the "effective from" date was a rise in rates or something I would imagine

I remember a lad from ROI being my mates Accord Type-R and saying it was something like £700 quid to tax because of the tax bands?

T reg, 2200cc engine.

Apologies for bumping an old thread but just wanted to let the OP know I seen it last week parked in ASDA car park in Perth. I used to have Novas myself years ago so understand what it's like to know if they're still running around. Googled the reg and it took me here so registered just to let it be known.

Looked in great condition by the way! :)
