I have got this problem where there is shed loads of fuel going into the injector chamber. When car is Idling well idling too fast as there is to much fuel going in. When I try to rev it it cuts out I think that means its flooding. I have changed the coil, the leads a complete new distributor. And still have this problem. What controls the amount of fuel that goes in on Idling? I can get it to rev up up if accelarate slowly. Every time I turn it off it just floods. Please Help me mum wants to do her xmas shopping and Im running out of idea`s to try next.

I've got a 1.4i which has the same system as your 1.2. I have had similar problems to you which was caused by the fuel tank breather system. The tank breather connects to a charcoal canister under the passenger front wing, there is a pipe from this which is supposed to take additional petrol fumes back into the inlet and be burnt with the fresh fuel.

I believe there is a valve to stop petrol getting through but what was happening on mine was after filling up, petrol was getting sucked right through the whole system, back into the inlet and over fuelling.

This can easily be cured by removing this breather hose from the inlet into the central injector housing (under air fliter) and blocking the stub pipe left.

This may not be the problem but its worth checking.
