building this as a reliable(ish) everyday car so nothing too radical. car was a 14sr engined 1.2 nova expression when i bought it december 07. ran it for a few months then got bored with it, handled like a pig due to front suspension problems and shot brakes. stripped it to rolling shell and started acquiring parts. bought a v.g.c. running coilpack xe, twin 40's, manifold and jets etc. to run them, dizzy cam, new h&h ignition solutions setup, lightened balanced rods, facet fuel pump and filter king fpr with an aftermarket 4 branch manifold and rebuilt the standard gm head. was just starting to build engine in around august then came across a mint mini shell and decided that would be a much better home for the xe so lost interest in the nova. minis half there but came across another xe very cheap (250 with full big block mount kit for corsa which i sold, ap racing clutch and lightened/balanced flywheel) so got on with the nova again and sidetracked the mini as i need a car for pvs, its not a vauxhall, stands me over 2k and is nowhere near done. fitted new front panel and front x-member to nova, painted the engine bay myself in december and fitted xe last week. just got wiring, plumbing and exhaust to sort to get her up and running. fitting the aftermarket 4 branch to nova as it wont fit under the mini front end and keeping ecotec pipe, ap clutch and flywheel, otherwise standard. have got the dash wiring done, just need to sort fuel pump live, switched live for e.c.u. and alternator wiring(headache, hate wiring). trying to do everything on the car myself, including the paintjob. wont be the fastest or prettiest nova but it'll be all built by me which i.m.o. is what its all about. pics to follow.
