this be a bit cheeky but i need a wiring loom for my x14xe engine and thought maybe you still got your old loom after you got your TB's?

ill give ya a fair heap of pennies for it if you wanna part with it.

Dave i might be wrong but i think CP's engine in his nova started life as a 1.4 8 valve and he just got the 16 valve head for it as it was a straight swop. Try carquip for a loom for your engine there number is in the yellow pages. Good luck Rick

does just swopping the head work???? i thought that the pistons would have to be changed too. I have got a c14 se engine in at the moment, would it be possible to swap the head and cams to a 14xe spec?

I used a 1.4NV (1.4 8v SR) block cos its one of the genuine 1.4 engines fitted as std to Novas that i happened to have so that if i wanted to hillclimb etc I would be eligible for the modified std 1.4 and below class. If you are thinking of fitting a 16v engine in your car and not gonna be worrying about the above then it is much easier and cheaper to get a full 16v engine complete with loom and ancilliaries. There is no particular perfomance gain to be had by using any other block tho' they all can be used as far as i know.
