engine is hunting

hi all iv got a 1.2i engine in my car and it seems like its hunting for air on idle. it shudders and doesnt run smoothly, is this just the way the nova is or would an induction kit fix it?

timing could be out. this should be in the mechanical section

as above or stuck ICV, dirty throttle body, ignition misfire, or stuck EGR
