The VW boys have a hive of uber wide wheels available.

Whats the crack with centre bores, offsets etc. I know most will be silly low offsets, but Im thinking of havin 7 inch + wide wheels, so I think handling and arch scrubbage is an obvious problem anyway.

Anyone used any on a Nova/Corsa?

The wider the more arch work you'll need. the lower the off set the father they sit out (to wards the arch) So having the wide plus a low offset can be a real cont to work with.

Rexy had a set of Zenders on his, required some serious arch work. Rims were 4x100 6.5j et25. Looked the nuts though:D

Have a look for his WIP and you'll see what work went into making them fit. :thumb:

I was planning on either DIY wide arches (as im sure most wide arch kits just wouldn't go far enough) or rolling the arches like Rexy had done to his.

The problem with rolling arches is it doesnt really fit in with the shape of the arches. However, arch repair panels on rear and new front wings going on anyway, so may have to take a look at that.

Anyone have any info about VW centre bores on Vauxes?

I thinkthey are close, but you might need a spigot ring.

VW Centre Bore: 57.1mm.

From what i can find Vauxhall i s 56.6mm

The flares could match the shape of the arch, if you started the flair high enough. Have a look on http://www.summeroftuning.de/ (http://www.summeroftuning.de/and) and look under 'Krew'. There's a wide as fook nova there running silly wide wheels with a stupid offset. :thumb:

All depends on the rim you choose really, but in europe the seem to prove that any rim can fit lol

sulphus those arches look awesome.

been looking at the Polo forums and some tasty uber wide wheels are cheaper than allesios and i really want something a bit different.

The idea is really starting to play with me now as I need to buy new arch repair panels and front wings anyway, so mayaswel do it all in one go.

you can run 7j et 25 without modding the front arches, if ure using a 175-50-14 tyre. i had that with a 80 drop in front, and it didnt scrape or anything.

With an 80 drop up front mayhem, do the tyres not catch the arches on bump or potholes? wouldn't run the risk of goosing the arch, although if it did catch, it's a good excuse to flair :D

What about the rears? Do you guys over there even lower the rear end with wide wheels? lol

mine are 7j not 6.5 j wunning 175 profile tyres, and i ran it at the lowest setting on the coilovers so it was on its ****ing **** and it was the biggest pain in the ****ing **** to drive or do anything with...

With roads like we have round here, any type of harder suspension is a pain in the **** to drive, so I'm just going for looks here (obviously).

I was thinking about using Golf G60 wheels, spiggot rings, go a bit lower (currently around 60 iirc) and some slightly stretched tyres. See how that goes and flare arches hopefully it'll be needed.

Mayhem those tyres were surely massively stretched. I thought a deeper side wall was needed to do a decent stretch?

Is that just cause the strech clears the wings?>
Minw 6.5j et49 with 45 tyres catch with it lowed 80ish.

i went through some pics, and i'm starting to doubt the 80 drop part lol

i bougt the nova with 175-50-14 in front, and by looking at the pics, i'm guissing the drop was about a good 60/70 ish. directly after buying it i replaced the front shocks and tyres, so i dont have any pics of the 175-50-14 tyre with a 100% sure 80 drop.

i know for 100% that 185-55-14 and stock front arches doesnt work.
the scrape at every bump and corner, and with 2 guys in it, the arches are solid on the tyre lol this is with a 80ish drop.

this is with slightly modded arches and a 185-55-14 tyre
(lip folded back, and a little rolled outwards)
