Nova Not Running?

Put a new speedo cable in my Nova 1200 SPI and it doesn't seem to want to run at all

Has something on the end of the speedo cable but can't remember what its called ? A speed sensor...

Anyone know how I could get it running

A bit of a bastid that I'll miss the 1st PNG Scotland meet tomorrow if it doesn't run!!! :cry:

Is the speed sensor plugged in?
Does it run? or cranks and not start?

Speed sensor wont stop it from starting.

Check youve not loosened the dizzy plug or anything

It runs very very rough then the ECU light comes on then it cuts out

Going out for another look at it in 10

hmm, very weird, only thing i can think of is while youve been changing the cable, youve knocked a wire or sensor outta place, and its cussing the flow.
hope u get it sussed by tommora for the meet.

erm long shot could it be out of fuel ?

Sitting about 3/4 of a tank mate

Took the speedo-cable back out and cleaned the connections etc and still nothing

The car is just turning over, it isn't even running now

check all the plugs around where you were working, espicially the plug going into the dizzy.

If its now not even running do the usual checks for spark and fuel to determine if its electrical or not.

Also, can you hear the fuel pump relay click when you turn the ignition on? (its in the engine bay on the firewall)

It was a breather pipe that came from the back of the throttle body onto a wee connection on the firewall - No idea what it's for but I checked my mate's Nova and it went in that place so we put it back in

Runs 100% now absolutely spot on
