after looking at a previous post im thinking of putting a tubro on my engine. thing is, what does youre engine need to be? IE injection or carb etc etc. what kinda work is involved. my engine is a 1.3i (or will be) that was made by martin bowyer rally company. only want a small amount of boost, so any suggestions for a turbo? any one got any ideas on anti lag kits as well? cheers for any random comments, jon

You can turbo any engine, it just depends how much time and money you have. Renault 5's make big power and they run a carb, so it can be done the carb route, but most home made turbo conversions I've seen are done on injected engines.
Main thing your engine will need for a turbo is lowered compression, this is covered in the previous post, there's few ways of doing it, some better, some cheaper, you pay your money you take your choice.
As for a small amount of boost, small compared to what? A low pressure kit, say 4psi? Some people say it's not really worth it, and to be honest it probably isn't, because you lower the compression which takes away some power when the turbo isn't spinning, so basically 4psi will make you just a bit faster than a fairly standard SR in good tune.
What turbo - Umm, well if it's going on a 1.3 I'd probably stay with something small like a T2, or a T2 hybrid, as this will be small enough not to be laggy, but still big enough to make some decent power figures if you do run a fair bit of boost.
Anti-Lag kits, well your talking about running a small turbo and low boost, so why would you need one? To be honest there aren't many road cars that could do with one, and secondly, althought they may look and sound good on the rally cars on a raod car there a bit of a no no as they are rumoured to kill and exhaust within 4Km from the research I did a while back.
I think that answers everything. Excuse me if it's a bit short or vague but I've just got in from work and I'm knackered! lol
