f20 is stronger, probably differnet ratios.

F18 is reknown for being utter tripe and weak.

F18 are mostly hydrualic clutch, whereas F20 are all cable operated.

Both fit the early big blcok stuff, both big block gearboxes, cv's interchnageable..

enough info?

F18's are made of chocolate, and spit their diff's out if you drive an X20XEV hard a lot, especially in vectra's.

(yes I do constantly worry about mine going bang)

You've heard wrong there pal.

Probably becuase more people use f20's rather than f18's. so you will hear of more of them being destroyed.

F18s are pap. Id rather use a f16 personally.

F18s were also available in wide ratio making them better motorway/economy boxes.
