it seems as there should be a hose on it when cars idling it sucks air in.??

what does it do? and should there be a pipe on there?

if it is the charcoal purge valve, it is there to open and draw the vapour that has evaporated from the tank and been stored in the canister.
im surprised it opens when idle though. normally canisters purge when the engine is up to speed/load/temp.

you would be better to plug the end of it as it will be affecting the idle control and giving an offset from the MAF.

Its for the Carbon canister - summet to do with emissions i think ?
The one pipe thats on it should come from the TB yeah ? just dissconnet it and blank it off at the TB end, but leave it plugged in tho.

so that hose that goes into the top take that off and plug it up?

yes if you like, or stick a hose on the inlet side of the valve and plug it.

yep, but leave it plugged in electrically, so the ecu thinks its still there

Yes, or you could dissconect it at the TB and use the take-off for another vacuum pipe if needed (dump valve ect ...).
