Has anyone had their cylinder head skimmed or had their engine bored out on a 1.4SR, if so how much did it cost and what power increase did you get?

Nope but thought about it. It's cheaper to buy a secondhand 1.6 than to mess about. We bought a 1.6 GSI plus transmission for about
?300.

i,ve just had my head skimmed, costs around ?30, goes much better and burns less fuel. be careful cos if you remove more than 14/1000", the pressure will be too much for the standard bottom end.

The head on my 1.4 sr was skimmed before i got the car, and cos it was my first nova I couldn't tell whether it felt standard
or not, but I raced a standard 1.4sr and mine killed it!! A mate of mine wofks in a precision engineering workshop and he reckons it costs
?20-?30. go 4 it......
