Hi,

The back axle on my nova is starting to form a hole of rust on one of the trailing arms, and the rest of the axle is starting to go crusty, so I'm going to change it for another one in better condition.

My question is, is it hard to bleed the brakes etc after swapping the axle? Whats the procedure?

Cheers!

Simple, same as normal.

Ok, so its the same as changing calipers for example?

Swap the axle over, connect up fexi hoses, slacken bleed nipples(oo er) and press the pedal lightly etc etc?

Yer, get an assitant to push the pedal down of course etc.

but very slowly!! otherwise it will be a master cylinder order!! or get a self bleed :thumb:

Ah ok, I've done front brakes before so should be fine.

I've never heard of doing that.... I thought I'd only need to bleed the back brakes?

Whats the reason for it? I'm just curious as I'm not an expert on brakes.

Hmmmmmmm, thats a new one.

When I changed my calipers, I only had to bleed the front brakes, pedal was perfect. It all seems to be down to the amount of fluid you lose? I'd imagine quite a bit would be lost when swapping a beam!

Cheers xe nova I will look into it!
