Alpinas have a secondry chassis number, the original will be crossed out on the inner wing/strut and a new one stamped in.

don't they normally have a front splitter with alpina written across.

Ask the seller for a picture of the vin plates, i'm sure it would tell you on there??

:EDIT: You just beat me to it matey

the logbook might have alpina on it.

Rich is correct in what he says regarding the secondary no. The way the no. is stamped in always looks pretty damn rough too! not something you would expect from bmw but its always been the same on ones I have worked on in the past. On a good note they are well setup quick cars you just need an account at the nearest filling station!

I would have expected to see a subtle splitter on the front, other than that. Very nice indeed. How much is it?

An Alpina wouldn't have had Vadar's either.

iv never heard of one of these, looks fake to me. i would of expected half leather instead of vadars and it shouldnt have a standard bumper like that. as said tho, itl have it on the logbook so ask the guy to take a pic of it or something. failing that, browse through google to see if they made them like that.

to me though, it looks wrong and someone has slapped some alpina wheels on it and some m3 interior.

surely the engine would have an alpina badge on it????

I just found the actual for sale car on the alpina site, it most likely is a real one

looks just like my old 325ise under the bonnet yeah i now its a 325 lol but i think there would been a badge under there sumwhere as alpine changed the set up on the 325 standard engine with diffrent cams and ecu set up im sure so there bound to have it labelled if it is a genuine alpine then its not in standard alpina form with the likes of m3 diff vader leather etc

My thinking as well. I have the same 2.5 engine in my 523i and its no where near 230bhp. iirc something like 170. Its starting to smell very fishy. The splitter is something I hadnt thought of but I have asked the seller for the VIN so I'll see what comes up next.

The price tag is £1850, which seems reasonable enough for the spec, be it a rep or real its still worth that, but if its a rep, I'm gona do some talking about the price.

Yeah I had a look and it does say its an origional but I'd like to find out how accurate the car is from Standard Alpina Spec.

It was probably a dealer built Alpina, Sytner are the official importer of Alpina but they did do dealer build special editions afaik.
If you PM me the chassis number if the seller gives it you, I can check what BMW have it down as. I can get it from the reg aswell if you don't have chassis.

I've asked for the VIN but no reply yet mate. It looks a nice example and one that'd fit in well with my collection.
