Hi,

I have an Australia Holden Camira, which I have done the C20XE conversion to, but it's still too slow for my liking. This is a shoestring budget project, so my quest for more power has taken me to the SC14 Toyota Supercharger. This can be found here for around 120-150 pounds.

I have done piles of research on everything to do with the SC setup itself. The only problem I am having is the Crank pulley. The easiest option I can see is to use my 'C20NE' Crank pulley on the engine, as this has spots for 3x v-belts, and I am only using 1 for the Alternator. I would then get a 2 V-belt SC14 supercharger pulley from pulleybros dot com dot au

My main question is: Can I take my C20NE pulley to a machining shop, get the original 4 holes filled in and then the C20XE patten drilled out and mount that up? Or was there a C20XE crank pulley with 3 v-belts?

Also, my plan is to remove the C20XE Throttlebody 'butterfly', so that the TB is essentially just a bit a intake pipe. I would then mount my C20NE (or a bigger TB) so it is before the S/C intake. I am thinking about powering it with Megasquirt.

Are there any problems with the above?

Thanks for your time :)

You should be able to get the pulley redrilled at a machine shop with no problem.

Dunno what it is similar to in the UK, but it's a 'J-Body' car.

Here's a pic of mine (has Calibra brakes/rims now).. doh, can't post URLs til I have made 15 posts.. grr.

They are absolutely HATED here in Australia, so it's the ultimate sleeper.

With the Crank pulley, I just noticed that late C20XE's use a single multigroove belt. I assume there is a separate belt tensioner for this? Maybe I could change the pulleys over to these and then just add the SC to that same belt?

The Mk2 Cavalier is the J type over here. What with the headlights on the Mira, they are hideous!

Yeah, they are a shocking looking car. I think it was meant to be a 'mini' version of a VL Commodore -- Australia's most popular car at the time.

If I convert over from V-belt to Wide groove belt system, how does the tensioner mount? I don't have any PAS or A/C left, and I use a different front mount, similar to the Nova's.

Do I need a PAS bracket or something? Or does it have its own bracket that mounts to the block?
