Mk 2 To Mk 1 Front End

got a mk 2 shell that im converting back to mark 1. im putting a new front panel/crossmember on, thinking of using a hadrian part for this. could any tell me if i need to use mk 1 front panel? and anyone used hadrin panels? any good?

You can stick with the Mk2 front panel but you'll need to drill a couple of holes for the grille.

if its an early mk.2 on a H plate, no one will even notice unless they look closely.

edit : was gonna mention as i noticed your after a door in another thread, might aswel source a mk.1 door / wing mirror setup to follow the look.

i used a mk2 slam panel for my mk2 to mk1 convertion.

you might need mk1 light plugs (sorry, dont know the name, but for the small lights).

Mk1 mirrors are the same as Mk2, unless you mean the really early style mk1 mirrors

some are the same and some dont, its very strange. cause me and my mate needed mk1 plugs from the scrappy, while another mate just could use his mk2 plugs

Ahhh, ok. I was thinking the bulb holder - my Mk1 holders twisted right into a Mk2 headlamp.

even the later mk.1 mirrors, they dont overlap the edge of the trim, where the mk.2's dont even have trim there, the plastic covers that frontside area themselves. (dont know if the doors are different, but the mirrors deffo are)

yeh those small white headlight clips underneath, i think the mk.2's use one at either side, where as the mk.1 lights use 2 on each side. could prob find some on ebay for a fiver.

I thought the fr panels were the same, but the mk1's dont have the slots in for the mk2 grille (to fall out of).
My mk2 fr panel has the 3 holes on top for a GTE grill. (Hadrian panel)
