The pipe coming from the back of the back box towards the engine has snapped at the weld onto the box,,,so i need a new back box peice for the loon,,,anyone know where i can get one? also i was reading the post by adam/aragon on tuning 1.2i,,,i wanted to fit a sri pre-cat full exhaust system (including manifold) but just been searching the forum about fitting hatch systems onto a saloon, what i want to know is are the manifold and down pipe (mainly the peice without the cat which i swap with my cat pipe)(j-reg so dont need a cat for mot???) a different length? cheers:)
i would assume that the manifold is the same on all novas mate, its just the middle piece and back box thats different. i was looking at my loon backbox today and to me the backbox is the same with just a longet tail exit so just see if you can get a 2nd hand 1 and chop the end off and try it??
I couldnt understand your post but im presuming yours is a 1.2 SPI? so thus your need to find a SRI manifold if you want a SR/GSI downpipe. But the simple option is to buy a 1.2 carb downpipe and front center section.
Thats all I did, bought a second hand Magnex backbox ent cut and extended it just before the tailpipe, before i extended it it constantly smelt of exhaust fumes in the car

its a 1.2i (dunno about spi) and no 'need' for an sri manifold just wanted to improve it a bit and as i beleive i dont need a cat wanted to get a non-cat pipe which i thought the (?early?) sri's had?

i have a "debaffled" loon backbox with an oval tailpipe welded on, needs some work to te rear panel to make it sit right (mine was mostly rust, so i just removed bits) yours if you want it bud
edit--nevermind!

were abouts in cheshire are you mate,,,a bit trigger happy with the buying me thinks lol how much you want for it?
Saloon exhaust is the same as the equivalent hatch item, aside from the tailpipe which is longer.

SPI = Single Point Injection, of which yours is.
J reg won't need a cat for emissions.
So thus your need a 1.2 carb system unless you go for the twin downpipe stuff.

And he puts his lambda sensor where exactly then if he gets a carb system?

£5? im about 5 mins from j19 m6, near knutsford/northwich
hi. use a corsa 1.2 spi manifold the lambda is in it, and a carb down pipe, then whatever else. hatch and saloon centre is same btw.

manifold is the same, lamba is in the manifold

NovaSR-ish,,,pm me your postcode and i'll see if i can persuade my dad to call round before or after college early next week if possible,,,aslong as its not to far as of course i dont actually need it anymore!!! lol.
Supersloth,,,i wanted something to make it a bit nippier, would a 1.2 spi manifold off a corsa not be any different to the one on it,,,i know that on its own it wont really make any difference but over time as i slowly collect more bits n peices it might be a decent little motor lol so what de-cat could i put on the 1.2corsa manifold?
No theyre not, an spi system has a hole for the lambda sensor in the downpipe (which is part of the system) whereas a carb one does not!
Your move kid!

i'm not interested in a carb system, i understand i need a lambda sensor m8 cheers

this gives you a 4 into 1 and a lambda for ya spi. its a slightly bigger bore and smaller silencers. budget good system.

sounds good mate i'll keep an eye out for one, cheers.

thats 2 votes for the corsa system then, spudly should i get the down pipe aswell or use mine,,,could i just swap mine with this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CORSA-B-MANIFOLD-1-2-1-4-8-VALVE_W0QQitemZ260351033349QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_C arsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item26035103334 9&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318

Please find a pic of this? I have 3 spi engines sat at home, they all have it in the manifold. Whats your problem with me latly?!
yeah get that and a nova carb down pipe matey

so the 1.2spi manifold (on ebay) with AWO6's carb down pipe? this is confusing lol
yes. then fit any centre section, instant de cat.

sweet, i take it my lambda is on the manifold yes? possibly last q. lol

My spi had the lamda in the down pipe, the manifold is only teh bit out of the ports and an inch or two down, the downpipe is seperate and is where the lambda lives.
I aint got a prob with you only the fact you aint as accurate in your facts as you think!
Im just saying that in my experiance they have been on the manifold.
OP if you do need a manifold i have one here, cover postage and its yours.
