hada new engine in my gte 1.6 8v the new engine had a starter on with the spade conector so i had to chop the existing o ring terminal for a spade conector, but i have came to it today and turned the key to go and all i keep getting is a click :S evrytime i get a click! i have to jump start it down the road to go anywere -tried winggling the wires etc ive tried rocking it back and to in 1st gear just to try and unstick it ive knocked it still no joy any help would be much appreciated

nope charged it for a day

doesnt mean the battery is sound but never the less....

well the fault must be within the motor, the earth, or the positive lead to the motor.

try bridging between the large power posts on the motor and see if the motor spins. if it does, then its the pre-engage contacts at the rear of the solenoid that arent making.
if it doesnt, then the motor, earth or supply is faulty.

does the interior/dash lamps dim as the starter is requested?

is the gearbox earth intact. Try hitting the starter motor if it works take it off and pour a cap off oil in it and try and coat the inside.
