Mine were shorting out so it only ran on two or three pots on me old 1.2 club (sexy)
I wipped them off and never had the need for new ones right up untill I stopped using it (last month)
so that was over a year in all weathers so Try it and if it f'cks up get new ones.

Hope that helps?!?

Mine don't even have them, they are not essential!

If you buy a new set of leads you can get then with a metal protected bit on the end, either way get shut of them they are a fault liability.

Because they use over-head-cam engines sr's heat up quickly under the bonnet, and especially round the plugs
so the heat shield stops the plug leads breaking but i doubt they'd melt....

I'D SAY GET SOME NEW LEADS AND PUT SOME NEW PLUGS IN, BE SURE TO GAP THE PLUGS CORRECTLY AND IT SHOULD START BETER, IF ONT YOUR DIZZY CAP MIGHT BE FUCKED.
