thats where the EGR valve is meant to be.

and what kind of connections do you mean??

don't you just make a plate up to cover that over???

Surely the eml will be on, if the egr isn't at least plugged in??

It should be john, Vauxhall can also re-programme your ecu to bypass the egr, they just add a blanking plate to it, re-programme and your done!

Or just blank it and plug a egr into the plug, done.

And yeah get the screw on fuel unions from a scrappy.Think mine were off an Omega

As i havnt got a EGR im going to get one and put it in, keeps is simple.

I did think that would be the case, dont know why i asked tbh lol

Is there anything else thats worth a mention? (apart from not knowing where some of the plugs go lol)

Which plugs......

Or just blank it and plug a egr into the plug, done.

:wtf:But then it will run rough as it will still be trying to use the EGR valve, you cant just block it and thats it, thats the whole point in re-programming it;)

It wont change how it runs at all ;)
Mines just blocked off with the valve left plugged in, has been like that for nearly 2years now without a problem.
Afterall its only a valve that the ecu opens in certain running conditions.....
It will still control and open the valve, its just the valve will no longer feed exhaust gasses back into the inlet to burn them again.

Which plugs......

Dont worry about it yet, but i know im going to forget where to plug it all in lol

theres a link on vauxsport on usefull threads i think theres someone who does a little circuit board that plugs into the wireing .think its just a few resisters and diode s maybe .its for 2.2 engines sure he can possibly do one for a 1.4 though .

Another question.

Seeing as i have a SPi fuel tank, I want to get a in-tank fuel pump, Only from a astra? and does it have to be a 16v pump?

I think you just use an MPi pump....

...but you might need an SRi/GSi tank aswell because of the difference in swirl pots.

Same setup as for a redtop etc I think.

spi tank, and rob a mpi pump from a corsa/astra or cav with internal pump. ill have one from a corsa gsi at the weekend if u struggle at the scrappy

Getting any old mpi pump will mean you'll need to take the spi pump housing to bits, and swap the bare pump itself.
A complete one from a mk3 astra just bolts right in
