wel after getting a alu polishing set for xmas of a friend, i used it yesterday and today a bit.

this is my second cam cover, well chuffed with the results.

How much ? lol would you polish other engine parts aswell ?

ive done afew aswell man i just used some fine wet and dry and lots off autosol lol

thats the first one i did but i started doing another months ago to get it perfect this time i want no marks/imperfections in it this time!

how easy is it with a proper kit? beacase i plan on having most my engine like that and the last time i tried to do my head i just ended up cleaning it up beacause it was being a pain in the a*se lol

dj wudgey, you must of spend hours doing that lol with sandpaper.
is it easy to do. its alright to do, little time consuming but feels great when it comes out nice, and im gonna do my oil cover as well, because mine is metal, the one in the pic is aw06's

Christ. I used to get stoned and sit polishing cam covers with Autosol for my mates and my own Novas. I don't think I could have th epatience to do it now though :roll:



Good work BTW, looks good! I used the little detailing brushes with some autosol on the to get in all the little bits too. Mmmmm, the smell is coming back to me lol

get the cam carrier done like i have aswell looks mint lol im re'doing that aswell its been a right f*cker its getting into the tight spaces which makes it hard!! but as you say worth the while when its done!!

have you been using any tools?? i used a dremel to do some bits off my head and cam carrier but i did the cam covers by hand!!!

i used t-cut and a wire brush type bit on a drill.

i use a polishing set from gaybay. has a attachment for a drill, so is all good and yeh i thought about using a dremel for the tight spaces might give it a whirle later on

1. nitromorse
2. remove paint with wire wool
3. wire wool and wd40
4. autosol your fingertips off!!

lol i did my old mk2 escort wheels on the rim they looked good quite mint i =f i do say so myself!

i done the intake manifold on my 2ltr 8 v by hand with sandpaper and autosol that took aggggeeees to just get the casting marks off
